Career Roulette

How to Play

Spin your way through a full NFL career — from draft night to the Hall of Fame. The wheel decides the outcomes; you live with them and build a legacy.

The Loop

1 · Create your player

Name a prospect and pick a position, then spin for your starting rating, dev trait, and the team that drafts you.

2 · Spin the Career Wheel

Each offseason you get 3 spins — train, events, trades, injuries, contracts. The wheel decides; you don't.

3 · Play the season

Your rating, team and luck produce a season, a playoff run, awards, and — if you make it — a Super Bowl wheel.

4 · Age & retire

You develop young, peak in your prime, then decline. Retire on your terms or when the body's done — into your legacy.

What every stat means

Overall (OVR)

Your headline rating, 40–99. It's a weighted blend of your position attributes — the single best measure of how good you are. Reaching 99 is a rare, career-long grind.

Attributes

Position-specific skills (e.g. a QB's Accuracy, Awareness, Throw Power) that add up to your OVR. Training and development raise them; age and injuries lower them.

Dev Trait

How fast you grow and how high you can climb: Normal → Star → Superstar → X-Factor. A big season can upgrade it. Only elite traits realistically reach the high 90s.

Luck

20–80. Tilts your random rolls — injuries, breakouts, big games, Super Bowl outcomes. Winning it all nudges it up; choking nudges it down.

Durability

Your resistance to injury. High durability means you shrug off hits; low durability means the Injury slice bites more often.

Health

Your current injury status: Healthy → Minor → Major → Career-altering. It penalizes your season while hurt and heals one tier per year — but the lost rating stays.

Fan Approval

0–100. How the fans feel about you. Winning and team-friendly deals raise it; record contracts and rival trades drop it. It nudges your season and some wheel odds.

Legacy

Your all-time standing. Awards, Super Bowls and huge seasons build it; bad years chip it away. At retirement it sets your career tier — from Forgotten to GOAT.

Earnings / Money

Total salary banked across your contracts, in $M. Bigger deals and longer careers pile it up.

Contract

Your current deal: type, length, and pay (AAV × years). You start on a rookie deal, negotiate extensions, and eventually hit free agency.

Spins

You get 3 Career-Wheel spins each offseason before the season starts. Use them, then kick off the year.

The wheels

Career Wheel

Train, Event, Team, Trade, Injury Check, Breakout/Slump, and (when eligible) Retire? — your 3 offseason spins.

Contract wheels

Extension talks, free-agency last-chance, the open market, and team/negotiation wheels decide your next deal.

Super Bowl wheel

If you reach the title game, one spin settles it: win, SB MVP, historic, lose, choke, or injury.

Chase the highest rating, Super Bowls, MVPs, money and a top legacy — it's all tracked as hidden achievements.
